The Picture House Regional Film Center is excited to announce the revival of its Senior cinema program, offering free movie screenings for guests aged 65 and older. This cherished initiative returns for the 2026-27 season beginning on September 8, 2026 and continuing through June 2027. Every Tuesday at 2:30 PM The Picture House in Pelham and Bronxville will host these special screenings. The diverse lineup includes box-office hitsindependent filmsdocumentaries and international cinema all presented free of charge. This initiative is designed to make moviegoing accessible and enjoyable for seniors in the community.

Ulster County’s Free Movie Event for Seniors
In addition to The Picture House’s Senior Cinema, the Ulster County Office for the Aging is hosting a special movie event for seniors. On Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 1 PM the Rosendale Theatre will screen the classic film “Strangers on a Train” released in 1951. This thriller stars Farley GrangerRobert Walker and Ruth Roman.
The film follows the story of Guy Haines a star tennis player who meets Bruno Anthony on a train. Bruno proposes a sinister arrangement where each will murder the other’s troublesome relative. This event is free for Ulster County residents aged 60 and older, but reservations are required.
