The festival will also host the world premieres of two other highly anticipated films. Meanwhile, The Assassin(s) directed by South Korean filmmaker Hur Jin-ho, is a political thriller set in 1974, following the aftermath of an attempted assassination of the South Korean president.

Innovative Additions to TIFF 2026

This year, TIFF is introducing TIFF: The Market a standalone film industry hub running from September 10–16. This new initiative aims to provide a dedicated space for industry professionals to network and conduct business. Additionally, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s John Bassett Theatre has been added to the festival’s official screening venue roster, expanding the festival’s reach and capacity.

Key Dates and What to Expect

TIFF 2026 will take place from September 10–20, offering a packed schedule of screenings, premieres, and industry events. The festival is expected to draw a large audience, following the success of last year’s edition, which attracted 700,000 attendees. With a focus on diversity and innovation, TIFF 2026 is set to be a celebration of the best in contemporary cinema.
